Dish working on adding more local HD?

I was just searching the internet and I learned that Directv has already added my locals in HD. (Santa Barbara CA) Is Dish going to add any more locals because for sure when my contract is up I am definately going to switch. With a OTA antenna I can only get CBS and NBC in HD. I really want FOX and ABC. Hope Dish adds more or mine soon.

I don't know the specific statements by E* on the subject, but I certainly do not think that Dish is stopping where they are now !

Dish will be adding more locals but not a whole lot until at least first quarter next year if all goes well. OKC is on deck right now. Other than that there is nothing coming for most of the summer.

I don't think the problem is so much space to put them as it is $$ to pay for them.

Ah ok. Im new to the E* situation. Been on the D* boards for the last year. I thought I had seen that E* still had some capacity, but I also saw where they were expecting a launch sometime this year.

I remember many years ago when I had E* and they beat D* to the locals market. I wonder if when its all said and done, will they beat them to the HD local market. D* seems pretty bad about empty promises.

Other than being a smart-ass , my reason for having Columbus 1st is that a good majority of the posters from Ohio are capable of pulling the HD locals via OTA from either Dayton, Cinci, Toledo or Cleveland (I'm only 45 miles south of Cleveland). A wise enough person can always "move" to Columbus and receive *MORE* locals .
