Representatives of DISH network and the Association of Public Television Stations said Wednesday that they expect to have a deal on carriage of noncom HD signals soon, and even indicated they had been working on getting the deal done by today (Oct. 8), though that did not materialize.

"Noncom" is usually defined as non-commissioned (officer). Does it instead mean "non-commercial" in this context? I've been Googling and I only see refs to this article.

Also, today is Oct 7th according to my calendar. ;)
 
Wish they had this now. My PBS reception stinks and I've been missing the National Parks documentary.

Of course, even if they had, I don't think there is any more space on the HD spotbeam for Cleveland, given it is crowded with EA SD stuff, too.
