DISH TRANSFERS ON IPAD 3

Hi:

I was wondering if anyone could answer this question. I have a Ipad that I am thinking of trading in this week to get the Ipad air. I have a few tv shows that I have not watched that were downloaded to my IPAD and was wondering if there was anyway to send them to the iCloud or back to my DVR so I don't lose them. I deleted them off my dvr and they are gone and the reason I did that was to free up room on the dvr.

So if anyone knows if this is possible or have successful moved them back to the DVR I would definitely appreciate your help.

Thanks!

I do not believe this is possible. Might set up a name based recording for a future repeat.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys and sorry for the bad news.

OTOH, you can ask at the Genius Bar at an Apple store. I doubt very much they will know anything about it, but you can try.

Back up your current ipad using icloud. When you get your new ipad air you will have the option to restore from your latest backup which will have the TV shows on it. Hopefully it should be this easy.

Thanks everybody! I ended up only losing 2 movies that will be repeated endlessly on Encore and Epix. So now I will be a little slower in deleting items from the DVR once on the ipad. However I sprung for the 64GB this time so we should have no problems! I watch/listen to a daily soap opera so the ipad can get a little full at times!

I will remember about the Icloud. I have all my music there so I will make sure to back up the videos also!

Programming can be like 2GB per hour. If you back up to iCould ... I am not sure what the costs are ... but I think free is only 5GB. Be careful how much you send to the iCould.

64GB is a wise choice. I purchased the 32GB iPad 3 back in the day. While I rarely fill it ... that was pre-HWS transfer ability. Now that the wife has figured out how to do that ... it gets loaded up with Dora and the like for the kids ... leaving less room for important programming involving aliens and the like ;) 64GB+ is the way to go.
