i talked to my coop about it, they said they were searching for a partner, they already have fiver in place for meter reading, but want someone to do the connections, ect. maybe someday.
its @ 300ft from my front door, with no way to tie into it

Our coop took the opposite approach. Many are doing what yours did building out fiber to the substations first. Ours decided to serve their customers first with a 'people centric' approach, and then wire the substations along the way.

Building a 5g network from the ground up is a waste at this point.

First of all 4G coverage seems to work just fine on my mobile device and I seem to get pretty decent coverage right now with Verizon.

Yea 5g is nice, but for cellular it's really not necessary. There was a difference going from 2g, 3g and eventually 4g but I don't see much improvement going to 5g especially considering the technology today is requiring less bandwidth.

The longer it takes for Charlie to build this apparent 5g network, the more we will see fiber deployed to homes.

For 5g to be profitable it needs to be used as a replacing for home internet service. It's not happening in the urban areas and there are not enough customers in the rural areas to turn a decent profit.

THIS ALL SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED 9 YEARS AGO.

If Dish would have done this when they should have, they would be in a very good position right now.

Again this is all a big bluff on the part of Charlie. When the right deal comes along he won't be building any wireless network and be laughing all the way to the bank.

What makes dish network so much better then vz att or T-Mobile/sprint. All the companies above have pretty crappy customer service.

The big thing is Charlie has as much spectrum as all the other guys, and when he launches his network it will be all 5G, while all the other companies will only have small 5G networks as their networks still have to support their legacy networks and clients such as 3G, 4G, and LTE as well as 5g. Out of the box it will be America's Largest 5G Network.
Thats a very major difference.

Neither one of us are big gamers. She plays a few of the Facebook and Pogo games with friends sometimes, but that's about it. And none of those are especially time sensitive.

5G didn't exist 9 years ago. Nor did 4G/LET, for that matter. 5G is the future and not just in cell speeds and telecommunications. It's the standard that allows driverless cars to avoid obstacles. For enhanced internet features as more and more of our world becomes connected and networked. People want speed and instant results. If 5G is faster than what they have available now, many will switch.
5G is also for (What I hate but know to be true) instant identification and locating using Cell GPS. I get it, you got a major chip on your shoulder when it comes to Dish, but as usual, you're going to probably end up being proved wrong

I have been thinking for a while that Dish needed to get into the wireless business in order to continue as a business, to be able to diversify and bundle. I have also been thinking for a while that LEO satellites is the future for communication (data, phone, tv, etc). I am very very surprised that Charlie has not mentioned interest in investing in the LEO technology. That would be something that he could have been first at and provided coverage everywhere.

Way late for that. At&t has contract with power to install or build towers as needed much like a Federal agency.
