Dish tech support can't reset password?

I've had dish tech support guy "hit" my new/used dvr 510 three times with the reset code, nothing. I've done the factory default reset using the menu/6/3 unplug sequence and still have a pw protected box. My last hope is the guy I bought it from can get the pw from the guy he had loaned it out to . If that sure thing doesn't pan out anyone have any ideas other than boat anchor?
 
I guess the fourth time is the charm, I'd have to guess the complete wipe back to factory defaults was the trick?Dish dvr 510 factory reset (at least what worked for me)

Menu/6/3/info/right/left/tv-video IN RHYTHM doing it deliberately did not work, select the middle button and a "memory corrupt and will be reset by unplugging receiver now" Unplug for 10/15 seconds and reboot to a "default" dvr. Amazingly STILL WITH PASSWORDS!!!

Now call dish ask for them to reset the pw and wait 10/15 min and after only 8 hours of google searching/troubleshooting/system rebooting bs walla... a working reciever :)
