Dish Serial Port Commands

I did a search and couldn't find anything. I have a DISH 508 receiver. It has a serial port on the back. Is there a command list somewhere of how it can be controlled via RS232? I've got a home automation system that I'd like to tie this into.

That's a 50 pin connector. Serial Ports (RS232) are either 9 or 25 pin. There might have been some 15 pin in the past also.

Actually, there's even more types of serial connectors than that. A LOT more.

But back to the OQ, nope, nothing you can do with it.

You're right, it is a 50 pin. I was thinking it was a 25 pin serial port. I'm out of town on vacation so I didn't check it right before I posted.

That's famous E*IDE what we suppose to use for connect two PVRs for exchange recordings ( backup ? ). J/K - it was a dream .

They had mentioned the possibility of connecting a CD-R for a service where subscribers could buy and burn songs (PPL?).
