If they turned them on today or in two weeks, would it make any difference ? Nobody is missing anything from before (if you've been with Dish).
The "customers" - the vast majority of them - are likely completely unaware of any change (meaning, this contract being signed).I think that given the wait involved, customers are understandably anxious to get it kicked off. When it comes to waiting, haven't we given enough?
It was covered by the local news I watched this morning, as well as my local paper....The "customers" - the vast majority of them - are likely completely unaware of any change (meaning, this contract being signed).

You could also make the argument that, with a new contract (that we are all paying for), we are "missing" content for which Dish has an agreement. So, if this is going to take another month, I get the irritation that will pop up in this thread among subscribers.
I did not get anything out of this agreement, but lose Autohop! This sucks. I guess that I will just wait three days to watch any ABC show to get even with them. Nothing really that good on ABC anyway.
Also, what is the Longhorn channel, another western movie channel. Who cares.
They have been showing local ads for a few years now, so this is the next evolution.Would not suprise me to see a transponder dedicated to targeted ads. They will watch your viewing and ad habits (using your net connection) and push the ads to your hard drive. Then, they will pull up the ad during a specified show and you will be scratching your head as to how Ford knew you were looking at new cars

And if that starts to happen customers will be leaving Dish - who wants to pay as much as we do for targeted ads? bad enough we continually get bombarded on the internet.
My local news hasn't said anything, nor have I heard anything (I could have missed it, I admit) out of Columbus or Cincinnati. I had to go into CNN's "business" section to find it.It was covered by the local news I watched this morning, as well as my local paper....
Ok I just finished catching up on this thread. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, Tivo and DISH settled, er no, that was AMC & DISH right? Wait a minute, which dispute were we on? Oh Yeah now I remember DI$NEY! Should they wait the HD to light up before they get into the next fight?
I think CBS owns Smithsonian.LOL. So what is involved in the FOX feud? Who owns the Smithsonian HD channel?
