Dish question

I have a question about the dishes themselves. I received an old Dish Network antenna that is 18" is it possible to use that dish for directv? I will only be using a standard receiver no HD or anything fancy. I want to use this for my RV. I was told at Radio Shack that all I have to do is point it at a Directv satellite. Is this true or should I just spend the outrageous money that they want for a portable RV dish?

yes, just point it at the 101 sat and you will be fine.

An 18" DISH 300 with a single or dual Legacy LNB will work for 101 with a basic Directv receiver. It won't work for any other Directv satellite location.
