Anyone please help me if you can or offer up any advice - here is what is going on:

For some reason I am losing all channels associated with the 110 Satellite! I mean - ARGHH - I go into dish pointing and every transponder except 1, 3 & 9 on the 119 is getting 95+...on the 110 side some are coming thru at 68-95 and at least 6-8 or so are at 0! Everything was working fine for the past 2 days and then bang - gone! I have signal strength on certain transponders and zip on others - I have no clue what to try or do!

Any ideas?

FYI - I am using a DISH 500 with Twin LNBF and DP301 Receivers. I just bought two brand new cables (RG-6) one is 50ft and one is 100ft.

Buy the DHPP service program from DISH for $5.99 pay $29.99 for a service call get problem corrected cancel DHPP $36.00 problem cured.

There are some TP's that might have 0, as they are spotbeams

119 has spotbeams at 1 3 5 7 9
110 has spotbeams at 2 4 6 8 10

If you're within the beam, you would get signal. If you're out of it,. you get zip :)

Sounds like the dish isn't properly aimed. Let us know what you get on transponders 11 & 12 on 110 & 119

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the response! I got you a full breakdown of every transponder/spotbeam and what I am receiving. Oh, and also I noticed that I am not just losing channels on 110, but also 119 as I see that 231-248 are associated with 119 and those keep going bye-bye!

FYI - I have a Dish 500 w/ TWIN LNBF and 2 DP-301-10 receivers

119 Sat:
__________
1 - 0
2 - 103
3 - 0
4 - 94
5 - 125 (shows as spotbeam)
6 - 89
7 - 117 (shows as spotbeam)
8 - 101
9 - 0
10 thru 21 - 101-104

110 Sat:
__________
1 - 95
2 - 75 (shows as spotbeam)
3 - 96
4 - 0
5 - 88
6 - 53 (shows as spotbeam)
7 - 0
8 - 0
9 - 95
10 - 0
11 - 92
12 - 96
13 - 0
14 - 89
15 - 89
16 - 95
17 - 0
18 - 91
19 - 0
21 thru 31 - 90-100

There ya have it! This morning all my channels were back and then BANG at around 11:00 a.m. lost my locals, channels 231-248 and some other movie channels. Oh, I am in the 85225 Zip Code if this helps!

Thanks for all your help fellas!

Homer

Hey,

I will have to check my other receiver - haven't been using it too much! I will get back to you in a bit. Keep them ideas coming! LOL!

Thanks Fellas!

Dish Pro CCS9601 is the bad lot of Channel Master TWIN LNBF's but this dosen't sound like one of those failures. Signal strength stays high and you lose all even or odd.

On the 110 satellite, TPs 7, 13, 17, and 19 are for HD so you will not get a signal strength unless you have an HD receiver.

Have you guys ever heard of an LNB that just goes bad??? I think that is what I have narrowed my problem down too. Now on my 2nd receiver I am losing the same stuff - locals, 240's, some 300's, etc. I am going to check the model number tomorrow and see if it is one of those Dish Pro CCS9601. Even if it is not, I think I will order another one from eBay!

Thanks,

Homer

Hey Simon,

Thanks for that link and reply! Here is why I think the LNB is bad.....As of now everything is working - Phoenix Locals, East and West Coast (230-248) and all movie packages. Now, I can almost guarantee that at some point in the next day or so I will lose these again. BUT, the signal strength on those transponders will remain strong (i.e. Sat 119 Trans 15 is the majority of the East/West channels - I have consistently had 100+ strength on that thru this whole ordeal). Therefore, I think the switch within the Twin LNB is malfunctioning. I ordered another one just to be safe (I can always re-sell on eBay). What do you think?

If you disagree, what else should I do to test on my end?

Thanks,

Homer

I'm starting to think this is more of an authorization problem.

Here's some channels to check when the problem occurs - it will exercise the switch:

Chn. Sat-Tp
101=119-11
102=110-11
103=110-22
105=119-16

Sorry to ask another question Simon - but what I am looking for when I check these channels? Meaning....if they come in fine what does that tell us? Or if they don't come in, what then?

Thanks!

My thought is that if you continue to get those 4 channels while the others are out, it might be an authorization or receiver problem as opposed to an LNBF one.

Forgot to ask before - have you rebooted the box yet? If so, soft (hold down power button) or hard (pull power plug)?

Model 5000 not showing all locals

Second DishPro 500 for 148 location?
