Why do we seem to think Echostar is sitting on a ton of money?

Couldn’t Echostar just loan Dish the cash? Doesn’t seem like there could be much investor complaints.

Well Charlie doesn't have to pay rent on 129 any more.

Yes that is a sign that the rent they were paying will go to trying to build out their cell phone company to 75% by 2025. Who knows how much a month they paid for that satellite all those years, instead of just replacing all the mpeg 2 satellite receivers and they could of went mpeg 4 sooner.

I asked the question to google how much Echostar is worth and this is what they said.

Echostar networth as of July 14, 2023 is $1.57 Billion. Echostar is a global provider of satellite services operations, video delivery services, broadband and satellite technologies and broadband internet services for home and small office companies.

I don't know how much Echostar has to throw at the build out, but it would be more than DISH has right now to spend. Combined they might have the cash to do it, but I don't know for sure.

Analysts seem to believe, that it will be easier to get loans with a combined company then Dish can on it’s own.

Echostar’s cash on hand, as of March, is 1.67 Billion, but it has debt of 1.6 Billion.

Well I called today to re apply dish movie package half off like have been for 5+ years a few days before it goes off, to avoid the "fee" associated with going back normal price.

Supposedly it was the "loyalty" department and supposedly every agent that has done this for me past 5+ years for was doing something they can get fired for.. Dont know if really was loyalty department but bit was like 30 minute wait just get told no.

intially use the 1260 number was told no, use the 2309 number listed on first post and got agent in 5 minutes and got discount applied and done with 3 minutes with no issues

yah I getting beginning to think that too, the lady that did do the re apply of the dish movie package for half off for 6 months did in less then 3 minutes, but tried to get to me sub to cinemax, I told her no I got rid of starz cause they didnt have half off was saving 5$ and in less then 2 months that savings was gone do to another price hike, I told her if any thing you need to lower my bill she couldnt change subject fast enough. I was happy I atlest got the 6month half off dish movie packages.

In 3 month I need to call again to get 40$ off for 3-6month reapplied. at any point when I am told I cant get both those discount reappled I been told to tell dish is being canceled.

The only package dish has that has ALL the channel that we would watch is 250 package, which is $120+ if we forced to drop that cause price might as well just dump dish

The loyalty department supposedly can get you a single Hopper plus with a two Hopper 3 system (I bought mine from solid signal)
I did try to connect another Hopper plus to my other H3 but I couldn’t get it to connect which could be the reason DISH doesn’t support the hopper plus on a two hopper system.

Which channels in particular do you keep the Top250 for?

I get so many people into a lower (cheaper) pack and add a few mini packs here and there so they can keep the channels they like, but get a better price...

My two year commitment expired with my May bill so I called the Dish Loyalty Department at 888-283-2309. I have been with Dish for 22 years. They were unable to give me the $5 discount for Autopay and the $5 Hopper Savings. He told me that the computer would be able to apply that when my next bill generates on June 2. Instead he gave me a $15 credit toward the May bill and told me to call again after June 2.
Dish also gave me 3 Rental Certificates since I did not receive the certificates in March, April, and May due to the ransomware attack. Once again I am pleased with Dish's customer service. I plan to stick with them for at least another two years.

I had almost identical experience.Noticed my next bill was going to be 10 bucks higher.I was going to lose the $5 discount for autopay and the $5 Hopper savings.After getting by the chatbox by repeating"customer service" a few times I was connected to a regular CSR who ,as expected, was pleasant enough but couldn't help.I explained that I usually talk to Loyalty/Retention and he quickly forwarded me to an account specialist.
That person said he could not do anything permanent until August11th(billing cycle) but would a $30 credit ease my pain and suffering if only for a moment? I accepted the offer and marked August 11th on the calendar.
Thanks for the number-while I didn't get to Loyalty directly it did get me a CSR a lot quicker than the standard number-maybe just a coincidence,

I get so many people into a lower (cheaper) pack and add a few mini packs here and there so they can keep the channels they like, but get a better price...

starzencore channels cause cheap way to get starz or atlest access to the vod, science channel , I would have look compare again but last i looked i lost science channel,vice, MGM D+ ( which i think come with dish movie package) ,MoviePlex (MPLEX) (part movie package?) bein which can not happen and going lower package i would start lose tcm and amc discovery channels.

It was a running joke on Hee Haw of a car sales commercial. See if you can go to Youtube and search for BR-549 on Hee Haw and you can see for your self. There should be snippets of it on there. I just watched it and its there.
