Dish Pass and PIP ?'s on 622

Hello! I am a new Dish customer and am having some problems with the Dish Pass feature and the PIP. I've played around, looked at forums and read the manuals and tech info available from Dish but can't find the answer to these 2 questions. It may be that I'm expecting more out of these features then are possible (previously I've used TIVO and i'm new to PIP):

1. Dish Pass - I am trying to figure out how to use this feature and NOT tape All Episodes of the program. For instance in attempting to set up The Shield in a Dish Pass it wants to record All Episodes and I can't specify just new or even just a weekly at the same time/same channel option. I can only get this to work if I page to The Shield in my guide and then hit record. Is it possible to set this in Dish pass?

2. Dish Pass HBOHD - When I attempted to search for The Sopranos in Dish pass it only sees HBO East and West but not the HBO HD channel. But I can set it to record on this channel when I page to it in the guide. Why wouldn't it show the HD channel.

3. PIP - Is there a way to change the channel in the small picture in PIP and keeping the large picture on the stationary channel. I'd rather flip through channels on the small screen to look for other interesting programs then the large picture.

Thanks in advance and I apoligize if this is novice stuff but I'm trying to learn! I actually "taught" my installer about how to hook the 622 up today from things I've learned on this forum. It was either that or sit and wait for another installer to come later today! You'd think they'd send someone out who knew how to do this reciever or who at least had heard of it before! He was very nice though and didn't get his nose out of joint when I corrected him on a few things!

1) Don't use Dishpass for regular weekly series tv. Dish pass is used if you want to record a show through out the entire satellite system. For instance : "That 70's Show" will be recorded on any of the satellite channels that shows it when ever it is shown. Use it only if it is a one time deal or infrequent recording.

I use the regular timers for series tv and select "NEW" or "WEEKLY ". Then it will only record the series on that one channel and only the new or once a week. You can also select under options menu , to save only one or upto 25 of each recording on that timer. So this way you won't override the entire hard drive to record every episode of that show through out the entire satellite system.

2) When I use the search feature or # on the remote control, it will pick up all the channels for the show I've searched for including hbo Hd. You have to scroll through all of them till you see the hbo hd version. Or you can use the themes feature on your remote control under the blue buttons -left side arrow of the remote and then select a theme of say movies or series. I rarely use the Dish pass feature to search for anything.

3) NO you can not do this. The guide only works on the main big screen not the smaller pip screen.
