Hi, I would like to get DishNetwork, and I'm wondering if I can get just the local channels or if I have to add them to another package. I looked at other posts but I couldn't decide whether I can or not. Any help would be great!

Yes local channels are available but you need to own the DISH equipment I believe not lease it. Call 1-800-333-3474 and ask DISH.

As boba said, if you own the receivers, you can get a locals/access only pkg f/$10, which I have. It combines the locals pkg + the $6 access fee f/accounts w/out an AT/DL pkg.
There is also a $10 welcome pkg, with about 15+ basic channels (do a search for the list of them here), which you can add locals to it f/$5.
Once you get either one of these pkgs, you can add other a la carte channels to them, as well as add the FREE PI pkg.

Dish sells a DTVPal DVR that can pick up local antenna broadcasts without a monthly subscription. Do you have local stations worth picking up or did you already look down that avenue? You probably don't get all the ones you'd like in SD.
