I've had ABC-HD from BEV for the past 6-7 years but recently dropped them.
I've kept Dish hd pak + Voom 10 channels but went to Comcast as they offered local networks except ABC (as well as 4 premium movie channels in hd, and 5 other cable channels like InHd 1&2 et al.
So just sd Superbowl this year. No hd locals for my area with Dish unless I got the new receiver/dvr. But wait.
ABC-hd from San Francisco (KGO-hd) just popped up this morning.
No need for new hd package. No new rate increases. No need for mpeg 4 receivers. It just appeared without notice, as did a few new hd channels a few months ago (Espn and Disc). No nickle and diming long time existing customers like we experience with Dish.
I'm impressed with the high quality of their picture and service. Voom quality hd picture, not hd lite.
I doubt that I will upgrade my hd package from Dish for quite some time if ever. Not worth the more than doubling of price and need for new receiver right now.
So no than ks to dish for the SB this year, but thank you Comcast.
