Dish Network Retailer Chat Recap - September 28, 2007

They mention that the 612 will be coming soon for new customer and will have an update in the near future.

The announce that the 625 hard drive will be increased from 100 hours to 150 hours effective October 17th (hey didn't I post that here the other day?)

For current customers if they erase everything from their hard drive then their drive will reformat within the next day to give them the extra space.

The price of the 625 will go up in Dish'n it up by $30 since they are getting extra hard drive space.

What's a 612?

I'm sure retailers were estatic about the dish skinz talk.. I mean, I havent seen one dish with these anywhere and I dont know of anyone who would want one of these things.
I have an idea. Dish should make Dishskinz that look like asphalt roof shingles...

The 612 is the single tuner DVR that hasn't been released yet. I would rather see them turn VIP211's into DVR's with the addition of an external hard drive first.

I think any retailer who chooses not to sell DISH Network is an idiot because FTA will not be around forever!

As soon as the piracy problem is solved, 99% of all FTA sales will dry up and go away!
yes. And Dish should go in that direction. But FTA won't go away as long as BEV has the same piracy issues and does E*

Is it HD?..If it were, that would be fantastic. I get a lot of input from customers that have two HD tv's in their home. They want to have a single tuner solution and DVR for the second locations rather than the current Dual tuner DVR's which do not deliver HD to tv 2.

Yep, the 612 will be HD. This DVR has been rumored for a long time now. I wonder if they are getting closer to releasing it yet? I remember hearing about it at the beginning of the year on this forum.
