dijohn-TR-50 is the OTA DVR, TR-40 was the original name of the DTVpal.
And to answer your question. No, ordered mine a month ago, they never showed up. Dish charged me for 4 boxes when I only ordered 2 and didn't even apply the government coupons. I spent 2 hours on the phone over the course of this past weekend to get it straightened out and I should get my boxes within 10-14 business days. The whole thing has been one big hassel.
It's almost worth calling to see if I can alter the order...
Has anyone heard anything about the TR-50 (like is it available) since they first talked about it last spring?
Jim
It's been a big hassel for me also. I ordered the DTV PAL on the first day it was available but I ordered one. The lady who took my order charged me for two and didn't apply the $40 coupon. They did credit me back for the extra box and shipping but Dish CSR's won't budge on the $40 coupon so I sent an email to CEO. I hope they can take care of the problem because I don't have the coupon card any more.
What a mess!
So I guess if you are a current Dish customer you have to call to order one of these?? When I try to order one online it says, "our records indicate you have DIsh service at your address and we can't process your request"....
Am I missing something? This is an OTA convertor, not a sat receiver. Why would it need a $9.99 subscription!?!?! Could Dish somehow turn it off OTA if you didn't pay a monthly tax?
I got lucky on that front. The person that took my order entered in a note saying coupons redeemed. So they credited that to me even though I no longer had the coupon numbers to give to them. The CSR had to send it to someone higher up for approval of that, but they didn't give me any problems with it. It did take about 45 minutes with a US CSR for me to explain the situation to her understanding. But it got taken care of.
Does anyone know if there is a website where you can track your order?
From what I understand, there is a new programming package with Dish Network for $9.99.

The lists of the two "Welcome" packages are in that post. Dish has a page up for the Latino version, but not the America version.
Do you think the tr40 will be available at sears, or online only? I would like to save the high shipping charge .
