Option 0 does exist but only during the time when you can select options 1-4, it sends you right to a dishlatino agent.

Just out of curiosity, did your prepaid dishnow smartcard upgrade instructions sheet have the old card S number, the R number on it but not the new S number printed on it. This is how it was for me 2 months ago, seems like I would need the new S number printed there to work with but that would make to much sense here.

Are you now showing the word "dishnow" after model# on the system info screen?

Would be interested to know if anyone who currently is using yellow with remaining days ever trys to use the "have there been any changes to your system" automated interface on the prepaid phone number to activate their new card. There is that option on the automated number when you add programming it asks you if there has been any changes to your system, there are 3 options smartcard number, zipcode, and dish reception location like 110,119, 148, etc. Zipcode works very well and sets the time on your box.
Once you have a card in hand it might be easier to activate/swap card if the automated system works better than the live agent support.


Card - G3 now shows as 241 H02

Tried prior to swap out my yellow card to re-activate as via VR system - NO luck.

Will my antenna work with prepaid?

I have a Winegard Portable Digital Satellite Antenna (Dual LNBF). Can I use this antenna with the 301 prepaid box? I am planning on using the system while camping and RV'ing and the prepaid option seems to be the best option for me.
 
just to update everyone, i received 3 G3 cards for my 3 boxes and i try the first one, i took out the old yellow cam and inserted the new cam , and bang it worked, now i had to add time to it since my previous prepaid card had alreaday expired, so i activated new card and everythign works normal...so i guess card does not come marry to the receiver as i try any card...
 
Classic Gold 250

As per Dishnow perpay package you can get Family, 100,200 or 250.
It will not let me get classic gold 250. Every time it changes to 200
with no way to change it back to 250. Has this happened to any one else?
Every thing alse is working fine.

Just stumbled onto this thread today & was unaware of the SmartCard change. Have a rental property with 1st renters of Summer season arriving April 4. Called CS (800-333-3474) for card exchange. The rep was very nice & helpful but said it would take 30-45 days to get my new card :( She said I could call if the current card does not work & they "might" be able to extend??

Renters arrive in 1 1/2 weeks for a 3 week stay & no TV. Place is 2 hours away so no way to check until the weekend, then a 4 hr r/t just to see if it's working!! Probably can't get full D* or E* installed by then at this late date.

BTW...how do you figure GreenDot is a better option than RS prepaid since $5.00/mo fee + $5.00 recharge for GreenDot? Never used them, but near as I can tell from their website??

I don't know why everyone is in a fuss over exchanging these cards. Unless you are one of the few who "only" get foreign programming(from another satellite), those are the ones that seem to be having the biggest problem ordering, and receiving programming.

So if you are just getting the programming off of 110/119(core/premium/porn/spanish cores), you should be just fine. Everybody calm down.

My DP301 has the old yellow card, and is close to being 3 year old, and I have had no problems adding new programming since the beginning of the year, when Dish had a massive internal problem.

Not to say that one day I will order programming, and it will tell me I need a new Smartcard. When that day comes I will call Dish, and get one sent out.

If you are really afraid of not getting programming, call Saudon, and order a whole new receiver with the new G3 purple card in it, for like $64(including tax, and shipping and handling).

But I say don't jump the gun, and wait. Considering no one cares, or has any idea what the hell Dish NOW!/YA! is, then I say just wait it out.

The reason the greendot is a better option is that it allows you to order programming one day at a time, while the $40 prepaid card found at RS, forces you to use the full amount all at once on one type of programming.

So if you do run into a problem ordering, with the $40 prepaid card, you are out $40 bucks, no refund.

With the Greendot Moneypak(which charges an initial $4.64 service charge when you load it, and removes $4.95/month after 90 days until the full balance is gone), you can order one day of something like Cinema:mad:$.43 cents/day), to see if it works.

If it does not, then you are out $.43 cents, which beats the hell out of $40, which would be nonrefundable. Second, you ccan EASILY get a refund of what is left on your moneypak from Greendot, including the service charge you paid when you first loaded the card. I have does this at least twice with no problems/headaches from the people at Greendot. They were extremely courteous and helpful.

I "think" I had this happen to me once. Everytime I said "Classic Gold 250", it would repeat back to me "OK, Classic Silver 200". Is this what is happening to you.

I have away for anyone here, ordering core programming off of 110/119(this includes all the classic programming/premiums/porn/spanish cores) without EVER HAVING TO SAY A WORD. You just use the buttons on your touchtone phone do the talking for you, and this "seems" to get rid of any miscommunication between the individual and the system when ordering.

THIS WILL BE LONG TO EXPLAIN. TYPING IT OUT WILL TAKE A WHILE TO EXPLAIN HOW THIS WORKS.

When you initially call, and the automated system asks you, "OK, let's get started, which would you like to do, you can say, (1)first time activation, (2)add more days, (3)troubleshoot my system, or (4)hear more options....

Notice I put NUMBERS next to each option. This is the key when listening. Each of these options ACTUALLY CORRESPONDS WITH A NUMBER ON YOUR TOUCHTONE PHONE.

So if you want to "add more days" simply press the #2 on your touchtone phone, and the prompt goes right to the next question. Simple and easy.

I will do a few more steps, and you will "get the picture", hopefully."

Next the prompt will ask you, "Great, we now offer two convenient ways to add programming, a (1)Dish NOW! pin number, or a (2)Grerendot Moneypak. Which do you have?"

Again, the prompt won't mention the numbers, but you should be getting the idea of what I am telling you.

We will go with the Greendot moneypak, so just press #2 on your touchtone phone, and the prompt will then tell you, "Go ahead and read me your Greendot Moneypak number now."

Type in the GDMP(GreenDot MoneyPak)#, and then the prompt will ask if it is correct(1) or not(2). Or Yes(1) or No(2). See what I am driving at?

Press (1), and the prompt will then say, if you entered it in correctly, "Got it, please keep in mind state taxes may apply." Now, I need your receiver Number, it begins with the letter R, and is followed by twelve digits.......

You get the point. Type in the 12 digits using your touchtone phone, and then the promp asks if the numbers you typed in are (1)correct/yes, or (2)wrong/no.

HOPEFULLY, after the prompt says"OK, let me check.......", it will then next say, "I see you have activated a pin before, have there been any changes to your satellite system?" REMEMBER (1) MEANS YES, AND (2) MEANS NO.

Press #2 on your touchtone and then the prompt will go into what different types of programming you can order, (1)Basic, (2)Movies, or (3)Adult channels, which would you like?

We will go with basic as an example(WHEW!!! this is alot of typing), so you press #1 on your touchtone.

The prompt will then say to you, "let's narrow down then language you want. Do you want (1)English or (2)Spanish programming?"

Press #1 for English. The the prompt will say(I am not actually sure what order they are in, so listen carfully to the prompt and what order they come in)," Which type basic programming do you want? You can say Dish Classic Bronze 100(1), Dish Family(2), Dish Classic Silver 200(3), or Dish Classic Gold 250(4)? Which would you like?

You would press the #4(as an example) for Dish Classic Gold 250.

Then the prompt will ask, "OK, Dish Classic Gold 250. Do you want to use the full amount of your MoneyPak? REMEMBER (1) MEANS "YES", AND (2) MEANS "NO".

Press #2 on your touchtone phone.

The prompt will then say, OK, you can get 16(as an example) days of "Classic Gold 250". How many would you like?

*****I KNOW CAPS MEANS SHOUTING, BUT I NEED TO MAKE A CLEAR POINT HERE. I HAVE NEVER USED THE TOUCHTONE PHONE TO ORDER MORE THAN 9 DAYS OF PROGRAMMING. SO, THEREFORE, IF YOU WANT MORE THAN 9 DAYS OF PROGRAMMING ON ANYTHING, I SUGGEST YOU "SPEAK THAT NUMBER" INTO THE PHONE. ANYTHING LESS THAN 9 DAYS, TYPE IT IN USING THE TOUCHTONE PHONE.*******

We will go with 2 days as an example. So you press #2 on you touchtone phone.

The Prompt will then say,"Just to be sure you said, "2". Is that correct?

AGAIN, (1) MEANS "YES", AND (2) MEANS "NO". Press #1, and then the prompt will say, "OK, give me a second to activate your programming. Alright, I am sending the signal to your receiver now, it may take up to 15 minutes for your programming to switch on. And you subscription to Classic Gold 250 will end on "whenever/whatever".

Then the prompt will ask, "Alright, is there anything else I can help you with." (1) means "yes", and (2) means "No". Press #1 and start from scrtach to add additional programming.

Press #2 and you are done.

You should never/ever have to speak into the voice automated service using the above again(unless you are ordering more than 9 days worth of programming, then speak it in for safety sake),

Just use the touchtone buttons on your phone totaly/exclusively, and you "should" never have any miscommunication between you and the prompt/voice activated servixe again.

WHEW!! Enough typing.

I found the voice prompts and manual number entry irritating.

Now I use Skype (SkypeOut) and paste the numbers (GDMP and receiver numbers) from a text file. Other telephony software likely can do the same.

I wish the Welcome Pack was available on DishNow.
 
well it seems dishnow needs to get new replacements card by april 15..2 people with yellow cards, its showing now that they need new access card by aril 15,and to call the number..it says they need to purchase the smart card as well? that kinda sucks if u have to buy a new card now...
 
What package/channels is showing april 15th pop up message, hbo? No need to purchase them be sure to mention 4/15 message when they call. existing subs should also get free $40 dishnow pin with new purple smartcard. call 1 888 347 4132 press 0 instead of options 1-4 ask for smart card exchange agent tell them you are dishnow prepaid. your results will vary!

Programming services that are supported on the (old) Smart Cards will be taken down based on the staggered schedule below. The dates in parentheses are when reminder pop-up messages will begin appearing on an affected customer’s TV screen.

• 4/1/09 – Adult programming (customer pop-up reminder messages began 3/18).

• 4/8/09 – Starz, and Encore (customer pop-up reminder messages begin 3/25).

• 4/15/09 – Latino programming, Showtime, HBO, and Cinemax (customer pop-up messages for Latino begin 3/25 and for Showtime, HBO, and Cinemax begin 4/1).

• 4/22/09 – Classic Gold 250 (customer pop-up reminder messages begin 4/8).

• 4/29/09 – Classic Silver 200 (customer pop-up reminder messages begin 4/15).

• 5/27/09 – Last round of on-screen messaging begins on 5/6 for any remaining services. All remaining services will be shut off to old Smart Cards by 5/27.

all my dishlatino channels sayin i need new card by april 15 or else...
i called dishprepaid and they in fact will send me new cards next week...so i think they will somehow send like an extra $40 card for teh trouble, so i understood, hope she was not bullyin me
 
I called today, just for the heck of it, and am having the new G3 smartcard sent to me in 5-7 days.

Eveything seem to go without a hitch(fingers still crossed until I get it, install it, and order programming). Hopefully all will go smoothly when I do it.

I just called the number(1-888-347-4132), and pressed 0 when the first four options came up.

I told the CSR that I needed to speak to a "SmartCard Exchange Agent." She said she could handle it with no problem.

I then told her I was Dish NOW! prepaid customer, and that I will have no account information within her system. Again, she said, no problem.

She then took down my info(name/address/phone number), and the info about the receiver(receiver number, and current serial/smartcard, S, number found in the System Info Menu).

And then she said the new G3 card should arrive within a week, with instructions on how to install it, and then too call them after installation to complete it or something. She said it would be in the instructions on how to install the card.

Allright, so far.

*****Just out of curiosity, anyone having trouble ordering/adding Showtime to their service? All the other options work just fine, but everytime I try to add Showtime(using my GDMP), the automated service says, "We cannot process you request at this time. Please hold an agent wwill be with you to help you shortly."

This does not happen with anything else, just Showtime. It happened about 3 weeks ago, and the CSR just said they are having a problem with ordering prepaid on Showtime.

Anyone else come across this lately?

Everytime I said " Classic gold 250 " it would repeat back to me O.K " Classis
silver 200 ". I used words for every thing but the Movies and used the #4 and the prompt asked O.K. " Classic gold 250 ". It worked just fine. :)
