As I mentioned I've been doing some studying in order to install a DISH 500+ dish and as I was looking at the LNB layouts I noticed that it seems counter intuitive. I would think the LNBs would be ordered from East to West when looking from the back of the dish but it appears to be opposite. i.e. 119, 118.7, 110.

Anyone know why this is? What satellite are you actually pointing at with these multiple LNB dishes? Or are you really not pointed exactly to one but actually to a spot that receives all 3 the best possible?

Thanks,
JB

The order of the LNBs is reversed because they're looking at a reflection of the sky rather than at the sky.

Looking at the back of the dish, the 119 and 118.7 hit right in the middle and bounce straight out to the LNB. The 110 hits the left side of the dish and reflects across to the LNB on the right. The opposite is true for 129, in on the right, LNB on the left

Partial Signal Loss

Will I need to pull more cable to upgrade from SD to HD?
