My 622 remote is a pretty good replacement remote for my Toshiba 57" RP HDTV. It certainly controls the power, volume, and even can access the TV's menus via the 622 remote's "Menu" button. That's really all I need.

You may have the exact same TV as me. The Toshiba 57H84. My Dish 5.3IR remote that came with my ViP211 works the TV perfectly and the Toshiba remote works the Dish receiver almost as well. You just can't scroll forward to later in the guide but you can scroll up and down to view current programs.

I have the 57H83. Yours is a year newer than mine.... I've never tried the TV's remote for controlling the DVR though.
