Hi, I've been a loyal subscriber to the DHA plan with America's Top 60 for more than a year.

Now I've decided that I only want some of their international channels, and want to cancel the DHA plan.

Does anyone know how I can go about this? When I called them, the rep said that my only option was to cancel my current account, return all their equipment and buy my own dish and receiver. Is this possible?

The questions I have are:

. What steps would I have to take?

. The satellites I need are 121 and 61.5. Will a superdish be needed?

. What kind of dish (superdish?) or reciever should I look for to replace my current setup (which is a single box in basement with dual tuner and two UHF remotes used). Can I buy from Ebay? Any good sellers out there?

Will Dish allow me to do all this? I'm a relative newbie in this forum so please bear with me.

Thanks,
Dresde

To pick up 121, you will need a SuperDISH. To pick up 61.5, you will need another dish, usually a DISH300 or a spare DISH500. To get off of a lease plan, you will have to purchase receivers and return your current leased receivers. Be advised that what you pay monthly WILL NOT GO DOWN. Even if you own the receiver, you still pay the extra $5/month. Instead of a lease fee, it becomes an Additional Receiver fee (or mirroring fee or whatever they want to call it these days). This is, of course, for every receiver beyond the first one. The only advantage to owning the equipment is that you get to waste several hundred dollars to buy it.

E* will require you mail them the receivers and you will have to remove the LNB's mounted to the Dish and send them back. The Dish they allow you to keep on the house.
If you want a Tech to come and remove the LNB's its a $99 service charge.

Can I/(should I) get a 942?
