i can not record 1 channel and watch another ?? they have some splitter job going on - on the back of the receiver ?? help

It has two tuners.
You can record one show and watch another live channel.
(or record two and watch something that's already recorded)
Check the manual.

To watch one while recording on TV1, you need to be in Single Mode, otherwise record off TV2

the splitter on the back is probably the dpp seperator. Is the reciever in dual or single mode? Also, check into the record plus options. It might be set for the tv youre on to record.
