Motorola has nothing to do with this. Motorola owns DC-2 it is the only encryption that is is not pirated.

The apparent Motorola drop out has little to nothing to do with Charlie. It is simply there is not enough market to consider continuing the C-band ACC, let alone receiver development. Yes, it could be said that Charlie has a lot to do with the erosion of subscription C-band.
