Last year my employer required me to work out of state for four months, at the time I was a DirectTV subscriber. I asked to temporarily transfer my service but they turned me down. My neighbor sugested I order an additional DVR and purchase an inexpensive dish and set it up at the tempoty location.

Upon arrival at the tempory location I installed the dish, sighted it in, connected the DVR and was able to enjoy the programing I was paying for. After I returned home I cancelled the subscription and switched to Dish Network.

I am being sent back for another three month stay. I would like to know if I can follow the same process with Dish Network? I understand that if it is possable, not to connect the phone line.

Thanks in advance.

If you are taking all of your Dish receivers with you, then you should be able to tell Dish your service address is at the new temp location, and then change it back again when you're through. Also tell them what your new phone number is, and you should be good to go.

If you leave some of your receivers at home, and take one to the new address, then that's called "account stacking" and a big "No no." Two service addresses require two accounts.

Tried to order a DTVPal DVR

no line of sight - dish network
