DISH needs to Carry One America News Network

My brother watches Fox News only, because he says it’s “the truth.” I was taught in high school and college to ALWAYS cite multiple news outlets for papers. You’d get an “F” for only citing Fox News.

It’s like my mom, who says the Catholic Church is “the one true religion.” Sad.

MSNBC is listed as far left and mixed there but we have it.
According to that site, it says left, not far-left. It does not list a far left or far right category.

And as noted above, MSNBC has been around for a long while, and hasn't always been partisan. Now days it is fluff partisan coverage, which almost all cable news in the US is.

For the life of me, I have no idea why people suffer through commercials to listen to what they want to be told. They can just feel smug on their own without someone telling them that their baseless opinions are correct.

Cable news is an insult to everyone's intelligence, but that is what sells. People don't want the truth, they want their bubble.

Because misery loves company?

Think about it this way: CNN is owned by Turner Broadcasting which in turn is owned by Time Warner. MSNBC is owned by NBCUniversal News Group which in turn is owned by NBCUniversal Television Group. Fox News Channel is owned by Fox Entertainment Group which in turn is owned by 21st Century Fox. One America News is owned by Herring Networks which has but one other channel, AWE, and is a family owned business.

Herring Networks has little leverage is demanding coverage on various providers while the other three say "if you want this channel you must carry that channel." It's simple negotiation....

This subject really is a Bob's pit subject, it really is
MSNBC is getting whiter and more conservative—even though their liberal hosts have soaring ratings under Trump.

You are making it a Bob’s Pit subject when you interject your link. The rest of us, well mostly the rest of us, are discussing carriage of a channel on Dish and the whys and why nots of said carriage...

yes... we have to be careful not to turn this thread into another dumpster fire!

So you hit on religion and politics in the same post! What forum is this again? :biggrin

Dish has 3 major news outlets available in it's more popular program packages.
Left Wing -- MSNBC
Centrist -- CNN (Yes, CNN is centrist despite what President Trump, FNN and Brietbart try to claim.
Right Wing -- Fox News Network

FYI, Dish is under no obligation to provide any of these if the ratings versus cost don't make fiscal sense.
And, in fact, Dish has dropped all of those channels in the past at one point or another, except MSNBC. Gotta have that Olympics coverage.

It is hard to find an unbiased news channel these days. Most news channels try to differentiate themselves to get viewers and so they lean one way or the other. Most viewers, on the other hand, tend to watch the news shows that parrot their own beliefs, so a news channel that one viewer thinks is fair and unbiased, another viewer with different beliefs would feel just the opposite way. I try to watch a variety of news channels so that I can see what both sides are saying and then make up my own mind. Limiting yourself to just watching and believing news from just one source means that your mind is already made up and you are only watching news that reinforces your beliefs.
I really agree with this point, it’s just hard to watch a variety as Fox is the only that leans right. CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, all lean left. They have given zero coverage to certain things, but hammer home certain narratives nightly, and every morning. Maybe that’s why OP wants oann or maybe he’s just trolling idk.
