EchoStar Communications Corp. is teaming up for the second year with NBC Olympics to create the NBC Interactive TV mosaic, which, this time, will also incorporate a special “showcase” that will give viewers access to information such as medal counts, updated TV listings and athlete biographies, officials said Monday.

The NBC Interactive TV mosaic is a multiple picture-in-picture display that will allow audiences to monitor six channels on a single TV screen and select the competition or program they want to view in normal, full-screen format.

EchoStar Dish Network subscribers on the mosaic can view five NBC Universal networks simultaneously -- MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Bravo and Sci Fi Channel -- three of which will broadcast NBC’s Olympic Games coverage Feb. 10-26. A sixth screen will show NBC’s Daily Olympic highlights, as well as a preview of upcoming events to be aired across the NBC U networks.

Dish will also broadcast NBC’s Olympic coverage in HDTV, according to officials.

Dish subscribers can access the NBC mosaic or NBC Olympics Showcase through Dish Home on channel 100 or by selecting a trigger that will appear on the NBC Showcase commercial. Only subscribers to Dish’s “America’s Top 120” package or higher will be able to view MSNBC.
