Sunbeam Corp. — whose Boston station WHDH-TV (Ch. 7) is slated to lose its NBC affiliation at year’s end — stands to take another hit if it fails to reach a new carriage agreement with DISH Network Corp. by the end of the week.
Sunbeam has been warning viewers of WHDH and its CW-affiliated WLVI-TV (Ch. 56) that those stations will go dark on DISH after July 29 if it fails to come to new terms with the country’s No. 2 provider of satellite-based pay TV

In Miami, Sunbeam owns the popular Fox Channel, so it is a bother for people, much more than when we lost CW. I will definitely be calling in for monthly credit on this one.

Being within Boston's DMA, I responded to this several times, in several threads, in both the Dish and Driectv forums.
1.) WHDH and WLVI are currently predicted to not have the value that they want, a year from now.
a.) WHDH is 99% likely to lose its NBC affiliation.
b.) WLVI has been rumored (even though only rumored) to be losing The CW
- CBS might be looking to move The CW to its O&O WSBK (currently My Network TV)
2.) Options that Sunbeam has
a.) They are currently claiming that WHDH will become a news centered independent station
- have not publicly addressed WLVI's expiring contract with The CW.
b.) sell to NBC, where WHDH remains an NBC affiliate, and WLVI becomes Telemundo
c.) Renew The CW affiliation for WHDH and sell WLVI's license back to the (dreaded) FCC.
d.) Should NBC buy another station to move the network to in January, WHDH Picks up that stations network
- rumors of NBC possibly talking to the owners of WBPX or WFXT to purchase one of those stations
- If so, WHDH Picks up WBPX's Ion affiliation (likely to go to WLVI, where WHDH would take The CW) or WFXT's Fox affiliation.

As we can see, this whole mess for both WHDH and WLVI makes it so that the ball is in both Dish and Directv's court. Sunbeam is banking off the 2016 Olympics, NBC's FALL SCHEDULE (as they won't have NBC's programing come New Year's Day!) to get big contracts for years of what might be low viewership. There isn't any certainty yet, but the forecast doesn't look good for Sunbeam. And, in the meantime, WSVN's viewers in Miami are being held hostage over a pissing contest in Boston. This is for shame!!!

Dish threatened with blackout by two Sunbeam affiliates
Dish Network and Sunbeam, already both already knee-deep in blackout troubles, are about to make things worse.

Sunbeam, which operators NBC and CW affiliates in Boston, and a Fox affiliate in Miami, Fla., has warned Dish Network (NASDAQ: DISH) viewers that its stations will be pulled off the satellite TV operator's program guide if a broadcast retransmission renewal deal isn't made by the end of the week.

Jeez do you even read other posts before posting?

Well, regardless of whatever I think about this situation, Dish and Sunbeam did renew this contract.

This is another example of why the Tribune dispute IMO is not really about locals. The trend with DISH is either they get resolved at the deadline, right after the deadline or very soon after.

Are Dish EA mounting angles similar to DirecTV?
