DISH Makes TV Easy with New Hopper Plus™

It wasn't the first thing I looked for ,but a good second thing for sure. ;)
It wasn’t my first thing either because I was like 20 years old and still living at my mom‘s house and she was standing over my shoulder, but once I figured out how to log into prodigy and where the good pictures were and knew I had time for them to download, I was on it!

I currently have a Hopper 3 with two 4K Joey's and have been a customer for several decades. I called today to Tech support and after several minutes of searching for info she was able to add the Plus with installation (shipping was not offered) She added the protection plan and renewed my contract but waved all fees so zero cost to install and same monthly fees I had been paying. My appointment is for this Tuesday. I hope to give an update once set up. Going to see if I can replace the old LNB and a remote and check signals while they are here.

Are you replacing your 4KJs to J4s too??

Not to my knowledge. Although she really was very unfamiliar with anything about it. I read is several places including Dish Newsletter it should work with everything I have.

I just read through all the comments and starting to get buyer remorse already on this upgrade to plus. My concerns are: I had assumed the Plus was a add on to the equipment I currently have. Will I be replacing any or all of my current equipment? Several people have mentioned Wi-Fi Joeys, No PIP, and video format. All are important to me! Evrn the Dish Newsletter is confusing in one area they say it is compatible in another it mentions new equipment?

I used to live in El Cajon! First on Washington right off Jamacha and then on Lexington in 1990

It is an add-on to what you have, with upgrades to the Joeys. If you have wired Joeys, you do, you won't need WiFi Joeys - which do not actually use your WiFi

Another ongoing issue with Joey 4s and probably the HP

Any time I leave live Dish and watch any streaming app or just stay on Android TV home screen for longer than about 15 minutes and come back to the last live channel I was watching on Dish the screen is always a black screen. The 2 easiest ways I have to found to get a live picture again is either change the channel up or down by one or go the guide and pick a different channel and go back to the channel that had the black screen. I have tried the obvious troubleshooting steps...reset, unplug wait 10 mins. (both of these on J4 and H3), unscrew coax wait 10 mins, unplug HDMI try another input on TV. None of these have helped.
Same here. I’ve just learned to change channels and change back but my wife has no tolerance for tech that she feels is broken. Gasp!

I am learning that. Amazing how little information is available. My current system is fully connected meaning MOCA coax to all as well as Ethernet to all. Zero problems but the hopper says its connected via MOCA which seems backwards

It is, the ethernet to the other receivers is not necessary and redundant
