I would like to know what the breaking point is on these increases. I wonder what Dish would do if a significant percentage of their AEP subs. downgraded to AT120 ? That would send a message I think.

Me to have they made no attempt to explain the price increase for AEP and what if any new channels will be added to justify a $5 increase other than making up the lost income from loss of DNS sales.

I too, wonder if the DVR fees will still apply to AEP+HD. That was yet another selling point of HD Platinum for me, waived DVR fee. If the fees will be present, ON TOP OF paying $10/month more, I'll definately be downgrading, which is unfortunate.

I'd be willing to pay $5/month more for AEP, ONLY IF the DVR fees are still waived and the HD package is $15/month more, like it is now.

I wonder how soon we can call in to inquire about this? I'm sure it will be a while before the CSR's have a clue. I'd just like to work something out to minimize the increase, and a $10/month increase is absurd, IMO.

Why do you think the price increase on AEP is at all related to the loss of DNS ?? What explanation did they give for the other packages going up in price ??

My guess would be that the other packages are getting additional channels(crap music channels, but new ones never the less) and the AEP is getting little to nothing with the largest $ increase to boot.

Thats exactlky my point the lower packages may get a few more music channels included and get a $3 increase and those of us already paying for the most expensive package get a $5 increase with nothing new to show for it.

What makes you think the Music channels are not just "new" to that package?

They talk about the pocketdish, the 402 model is sold out.

Jim says the next generation of the pocketdish will be here later next year and there will be a gap in availability.

They talk about Approved Parts and I dont think retailers will be too happy. But thats not a discussion for here. (But is fine for DishRetailer.COM)

Good Gravy, you'll need an Advanced Engineering degree to figure out what LNB's goes with what dishes and what recievers and switches will or won't work.

All the complaints about the price increase- Why don't we just rerun the same thread from the last price increase?

No one offers to pay more when a channel is added over the year. And why should satellite services be exempt from inflation? Programming and other costs increase. Almost everything we pay for goes up. I don't like it, but I'm not going to burst a spleen over it.
