DISH Hopper Olympic App

I guess it wasn't possible to map in our local NBC station's coverage into the channel event list. Strange since that's where the big prime-time events will be...

I wish they would fix the Medal count now that the games have started.

Shows the USA with 36 Gold - 38 Silver and 46 Bronze

And the TV schedule listings on the right are useless when the only description is XXX Summer Olympics (Porn Olympics? ;)) - Instead of telling me the Olympics are airing on those channels tell me what events are airing on those channels.

If you select one you can see the events, but while it's probably not Dish's fault, what was showing didn't match the list, this morning at least...

Apparently the 922 isn't included in this as usual.

Nope I was told at certain times while watching olympic channels a popup will allow you to access the app during that time, but I have been watching multiple channels all night and day and have yet to see it. Guess should have went the hopper route. Seems pretty cool, but as it is I again have something forgotten about. :-(

Those with the app, can you pull the app up on any channel or just olympic ones?

I simply set up a favorites "Olympics" list with all the channels showing events. The app is OK but mostly irrelevant...

this is only useful in its' current incarnation if you don't own a computer. If you have an older receiver, you're not missing anything.

even the official olympics website is better: http://www.london2012.com/

For example, the medal count still doesn't match the current official stats.

I understand that but I would still like to have it and I see no reason, other than lack of caring, for the 922 to not have it.

When watching a recording and you bring up the app, it stops playing a recording after you close the app. Really annoying.

When I tell the app to record an event on the NBC channel it records it on the standard definition channel rather than the HD channel. I had to watch the entire cycling roadrace in SD because of this. I see no way to work around this other than a manual timer. I REALLY would like to see Dish fix this as the app could be very useful.

I've only seen the app work once. Most of the time I just get a grayed panel on the bottom with only the logo. Nothing else ever comes up. I've tried rebooting the hopper, but no joy.

Of course, I can't really complain much, since this was basically a freebie from Dish, but I do wish it would work.

Yes the quick launch is very laggy and buggy on the hopper it pulls up fairly fast but not at all if the banner is at the top same as the joey except it takes longer to pull up

Once the logo comes up on the bottom of the screen you have to press "Select" on the remote control. The app should come up in a minimized state. Press the yellow button on the remote to change it to maximized.

Press the yellow button on the remote to maximize the display. It should now show the events for that channel and time period.
