Dish Headlines Channel

See, all you have to do is ask! :) It is possible that Dish was unaware that they were using the four-channel format for the news mosaic. So, someone at Dish must have read this thread, and got the information to the appropriate department to make the change.

4 channels again. I think sometimes Dish Headlines airs it with 6 channels and sometimes 4. I think it varies.

Which two channels get added to it when it is in the six-channel format? If they are financial-themed channels, it might make sense to include them during the day while the markets are open. That is one possible reason why the number of channels shown may vary.

I know Fox News and CNN are always in the 4 channels showing. I can’t remember the other two. But at prime time is often when it’s 4 channels showing; so I’ll check then. I do remember that Fox Business only shows when they show 6 channels. Anyways, I’ll get back to you tonight.

I just checked the six-channel view (see the post right above yours) so I know that Bloomberg is the other channel that gets added. MSNBC is always there, even in the four-channel view, as far as I know. The remaining channel in the four-channel view is C-SPAN, if I remember correctly. So, this seems to confirm my theory about the six-channel view, adding financial-themed channels during the day in order to track the stock market. Then, it switches to four of the main news channels for prime time.

I don’t think that C-Span is on Dish Headlines. I believe all of the networks they show are in HD, so C-Span is not one of them. As I look at the six news channels channel right now, I see Fox News, Fox Business, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, and Bloomberg. But like I said, I’ll get back to you during primetime hours tonight.

I'm looking at the primetime lineup on Dish Headlines Channel and the channels showing are Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and Bloomberg. So when it's not during daytime on weekdays it doesn't show Fox Business or CNBC. So crodrules was right about them being financial news networks that don’t air at other times.

The news channels are on all the time and the financial news are on in the morning and afternoon after the closing bell of the stock market.

I was mistaken. I saw C-Span on Dish Headlines with the 4-news channels last night.

It's interesting that Dish carries second-tier news channels but regards them slow lightly that none are in the fourth slot when there are four channels. That fourth slot goes to CSPAN.

An hour or two ago MSNBC was not one of the four news channels on Dish Headlines channel. I thought MSNBC was one of the four all the time. I have seen Bloomberg and C-Span alternate, but I do not remember MSNBC being swapped out. I might just be remembering wrong. Out of curiosity I tuned to Dish Headlines channel in the middle of watching my other regular Sunday Night programming just to see if MSNBC was back, and it is. I don't know how long MSNBC was not in the four channels today because I had not been watching TV. Dish Headlines channel is definitely one of my favorite features on Dish right now.

I'm presuming people with Welcome Pack don't get much out of this.
I'm presuming that the Dish Headlines channel just got a little more useful, at least for part of the day. A free preview of Fox Business just started today. :) If memory serves, this was one of the few news channels that was not in free preview during the coronavirus crisis-related news channel previews.

Oh goody, a business channel.

Host: Thanks for being here David. The Dow has dropped 400 pts today because of concerns regarding Covid-19 and its impact on the economy. This was a sharp contrast to yesterday when it went up 400 pts. What changed?

David: Nothing.

Host: Has to be something.

David: Nope.

Host: Then why the change in trader attitudes.

David: No idea really. It is like the ups and downs regarding China trade. One week they are happy, next week they are apprehensive. But the underlying reality hasn’t changed.

Host: So what you are saying is our jobs are meaningless?

David: Afraid so.

Host: Man... this is depressing.

David: *pulls up knitting* Tell me about it.
