We have sub'd VIP722,Vip612 from Dnet. Using 1000.2 dish - getting a pretty weak signal on 129. Dnet tech installed a second dish just for 61.5 and signal looks much stronger. Problem - Getting lots of audio dropouts especially on HD ocals (Houston, Tx) and HD Networks.
Question - How does the Vip receiver know which sat to use for the individual HD channels. These channels are on both 129 and 61.5. I did not see and improvement after the 61.5 dish was installed. Switch Test ran and Guide has been updated. How do I tell which Sat a particular channel is using?

Standard channels do not seem to have any concerns.

Unrelated question. What issues do the hacked VIP22 have using plastic or Icams compared to regular 510's. Reliability? Autoroll?

If channels are on both 61.5 AND 129 the receiver probably prefers 129, so you need to disconnect the 129 dish or cover the 129 lnb with aluminum foil or a cut off beer can and re-run teh check switch.

P.S - if you have channels exclusive to 129 this is a problem.

Yeah if your sure all your channels are on 61.5 then just yank the 129. Its a pile that is getting replaced next month. 61.5 is a much stronger signal.
