The installer is coming tomorrow. I am getting the HD DVR 622 and 2 other SD receivers. I am going to rely on the installer to know what he is doing, but are there some things that I should make sure that he does in order to have a good installation?

Thanks

Having a good idea how your HDTV's work is a plus. Make sure that you have the correct cables. Dish doesn't provide cable for digital connections between receiver and TV and audio system.
Good luck have fun.

Dish just put out a memo to installers to either install HDMI or Component cables.

By the way, Dish also claims that the software issues with HDMI are fixed, and issues are now hardware related.

Dish is up and D* is out

The Dish system was installed on Thursday and everything seems to be working fine. Still going over everything and trying to get my bearings on the new system.

It's funny, I waited until today to cancel D* just to make sure that the Dish system was up and running. I had talked to D* several times about upgrading to HD and the best offer was a $100 off of the $299 HD DVR. Today when I called to cancel the D* service the 1st thing the guy said is we will give you the HD DVR at no cost and waive the HD fees for a year. To little to late.
