Hi Satelliteguys,

I'm trying to catch the Nahuel1 Banda KU – GT satellite with the Direct TV 1 LNB dish gut I have signal 70% 0% quality .
I have a position, elevation and polarization at my position, but I cannot find information about what kind of dish size, and LNB I would need to look forward.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Alan:)

moved to FTA area

That dish is too small for Nahuel 1. You need at least a 30" dish and a KU Band LNB that is Universal

Also most of the signals are not beamed towards the US so unless you're in Mexico or SOuth America you wont get much :)

Thank you Iceberg

:) I'm in south california,
My reserch said is signal in where, I think my problem is the dish size, I'll try with 30" (as bigger is better?)
Thank you again.

Alan:)

you might get a few channels (not all) :)

I know people close to the Mexican border can get alot more than I can get here close to the Canadian border :D

I also live in Southern California and with a 36" dish I pick up Promar TV (TV Regional Venezuela) ,CNL 27 Guatemala, Unsion, Canal 48, Canal 36, Canal Vea. All which are listed on Lyngsat.

Same here in New Mexico, and it's fun DXing those signals and you might even get rare PAL video feeds from time to time!!:) :hungry:

The signals that I get are pretty strong with my 90 CM dish.:D

Have fun Dxing the Nahuel bird!:hungry:

interesting footprint

The Region 1 and Region 2 footprints of that satellite are strictly South America.
But the Region 3 signal does a good job of lighting up the southern US, and Mexico!
Looks like the signal falls off fast before you get to the Canadian border.

I wonder if Iceberg can get it on his 6 foot dish?
From the power distribution map, it looks encouraging.

Don't forget that you need a universal LNB for them also.
Oh yea, look at that!
And the dual C/Ku GeoSatPro LNB isn't gonna work. :(
I guess only the BSC621-2 will get the job done.
Now I see why they made two models.

30" Wrong Size

:( I bough yesterday the 75 cm (30") dish, with LNB RF 11.7/12.2 GHz. but still not working, thank you "ANOLE" looking at the region 3 where I am, and I think I will need a 85-110 cm as the lynssat table show.
Which one?
I like to know if anybody have the experience because if I only gonna find PAL signal (I don't have a decoder), I will be able o see the chanels frequency 11905 V tp 7?

What I cuold see with the 30"?

Thank you

Alan , Do You Have a Universal LNB on your dish ?
Because you need that , ok .

Alan what kind of FTA receiver are you using ?
Many FTA receivers decode NTSC/PAL , so no extra equipment is necessary.
My Coolsat 5000 has no problem with PAL , I watch it on an Standard Definition TV.

I have spoken about Nahuel 1A Before , I get it fine during the winter months in the midwest. See my post on the subject and you will see I have included screenshots of 4 channels on Nahuel that I got in March.
