You and I both. There is nothing on USA that piques my interest. If that channel disappeared today forever, I would not notice
Losing CBNC and Golf Channel and NBC SN would suck. But I could live without them..I'm not willing to pay another ten or more dollars per month...
I was opposed to the NBC/Comcast deal...I also opposed thew relaxing of rules which barred providers from owning services.
This dispute is the result. These mega companies get to hold hostage customers while they seek to bend us over a table...

Sorry if this has been raised already, but is this the first negotiation Dish has had with another Cable/Sat provider? I would presume that a big chunk of what Dish wants is IP rights for SlingTV. Unlike Disney and Viacom, Comcast has a cable provider and they probably don't want to help provide channels over a medium that could help people drop Comcast for a notably lower bill.
They've battled Comcast before on the CSN sports stations
They've battled FOX when Murdock owned Directv....so they fought Directv (indirectly) with FOX owned stations

Yes, IMO this is a bit Different then a normal channel dispute.
But in the same sense provider shouldn't be aloud to own Networks either.
That's BS.
Or there should be a market median on which you can sell your product at a reasonable cost vs the economy.
There is no regulation to protect the consumer at all.
Even the cell phone companies were forced to be competitive.
TV providers and network never come down in price. So something is flawed there.

DISH Sues NBC for Breach of Contract, Expects to File for Arbitration
"NBC's public statements against DISH over the past 24 hours are in violation of the contract between the two companies. Today, DISH filed a breach of contract lawsuit against NBC to address those violations.
"DISH has successfully negotiated agreements representing numerous networks in recent months that benefit all parties, including our viewers. DISH's goal is to reach a mutually beneficial deal with NBC.
"However, based on NBCU's actions to date, DISH currently expects to file for arbitration, which would prevent NBC from blacking out DISH customers.
"Under the conditions imposed by the FCC and Department of Justice in approving the Comcast-NBCUniversal merger, NBC is forbidden from blacking out its networks if a pay-TV provider chooses, in its sole discretion, to exercise its right for binding arbitration. Regulators implemented these conditions to prevent Comcast and NBC from harming consumers and competition.

The difference here is that Dish is providing a For the Future cord cutter option for television. Directv was merely a 1 on 1 competitor, SlingTV is likely where television distribution is heading and it undercuts the competition.
Yes... which is why Dish very well is looking to add them, which is a major source for potential problems with Comcast's obvious conflict of interest.
Just a reminder for NBC O&O markets.... ALL NBC network content is on Hulu, so they can go flip. SyFy has been dead to me since they killed Battlestar Galactica. I think I watched it for the Sharknado movies out of curiosity and that is it. USA is dead to me since they killed Covert Affairs and Burn Notice. Biggest miss for me will be CNBC as I watch Squawk Box in the morning while getting ready, but I'll flip to Bloomberg. Turn up the screws Charlie, go get 'em....
