Dish changing channels to ESPN

So... I just changed from DirecTV to Dish Network today.
My family loved the idea of the Hopper, so we got it. We have 4 TV's, so 3 tuners and 1 "slave".
My dad LOVES sports channels. So when we got it... he started browsing thru ESPN. Since we have the movie channels for 3 months, after a game he started looking thru the movie channels.
Every time he tries to change using the "up" & "down" it immediately changes it to ESPN.
For example, he is watching 301. He moves it up to watch 302, but instead it immediately changes to ESPN.
How can I fix this?

So it goes from 301 to exactly what number ESPN channel? First guess is you are in a guide that does not include channel 302. Second guess it actually takes the Hopper a day or so to get everything working correctly.

Sounds more like he may be hitting the swap button? What receiver and remote is he using?

Do you have a favorite list setup with only ESPN on it? Could be hitting the last button as stated.
