dish back to ota

There is a 2 way split and I am running a cord from that to another 2 way and connecting the 2 back bedrooms

When I go over there tomorrow I will eliminate that extra wire and see if that helps

Thanks
The 2way splitter sends 1/2 the signal to each leg if you connect another 2 way splitter to one leg you lose another 1/2 the remaining signal. At the outputs of the second splitter you have only 1/4 of the original signal so any signals that were just acceptable out of the first splitter now are too weak to produce good pictures. The best cure is a signal amplifier to boost all signals before splitting.

Is there an electical outlet near where the first 2 way splitter and is it indoors? If so, you solution maybe an in line booster/splitter. That's what I use for my ota. syracuse NY nearly perfecctly. I have 1 in my attic. With it, I am able to pick up ota from almost 60 miles. I also have a rotor, but I've found a position where I can receive both ota from Rochester and

Loss of signal strength is why I recommended a four way distribution amp.
