Has anyone tried using their Dish as an AM/FM antenna (as in hooking one of the coax connections from the Dish directly into a coax antenna connection on an AV receiver)???

Any success?

I suspect that you would get about nothing - other than what might leak into the cable. The feed is for GHz frequencies and is focused into space, while you want a KHz to MHz range antenna aimed more towards the horizon.

It won't work, wrong type of antenna and LNB would not be active, wrong frequency, no power to it etc. You could try a seperate antenna and diplex it!!

I use a terk clip on to my dish for my hd locals and I also use the diplexor to run to my auido receiver for my fm radio and it works fine for me.

Yep, its the wrong frequency. You have to find antennas made specifically for that type of frequency for the best results.

Thanks guys!!
