Dish America pack

I need to correct myself. It was originally 10 channels for 10 bucks but Disney was excluded. I have no recollection on how I acquired this document but it was Dish's packages when they started back in 1996 from a dealer in Mankato
(the guy must have had Dish Pix). For me it would be A&E, ESPN, ESPN2, History, KTLA, TBS, TNT, USA, WGN, WPIX

Okay, I must be missing something. What exactly is the difference between the $39.99 package and the $49.99 package, other than "Deluxe" vs. "Ultimate" in the name? Looking at the descriptions, they seem to be exactly the same. :what2

Also, I do seem to remember the price of Dish Pix increasing to $15 at some point before Dish discontinued that package. Some customers may have remained grandfathered at either price point ($10 or $15) depending on when they signed up, until they were eventually forced to switch packages.

I assume the middle package should have said choose two movie options and ultimate choose three movie options.

They're there, at least for me. You have to go all the way down to the Offers section, below the Add-On Packages section.

Like I said before, all I get is a 50% discount offer on Outdoor Pack, and now the site will not let me even add that.
Is Wally the receiver that would allow me to pay no fee for its use? What would my charges look like if I had four Wallys? (All of this based on the "locals only" option if it's available to me.)

IIRC, the first Wally has no fee, but subsequent Wallys leased would be $7 each and if owned (all Wallys) those after the first would be $5 each.

I'm pretty sure that there's a fee on even the first wally now for new customers..
I remember pattykay saying that new customers pay the fee for even the first wally
That all depends on how long you have been a Dish subscriber. I am not sure what the cutoff date was, but everyone who signed up before that date continues to get no fee for their first receiver. That is how I get Dish service with no equipment fees as long as I only keep one receiver active at a time. The fine print on Dish's price chart shows that the cutoff date for Welcome Pack at the lower rate was 1/15/2019. I don't remember if the no equipment fee grandfathering was before or after that date, but I know it was a separate announcement from the Welcome Pack one. My sister opened a new Dish account on 1/1/2020, and she had the fee on the first Wally. So, this change was definitely before that date.

IIRC, the first Wally has no fee, but subsequent Wallys leased would be $7 each and if owned (all Wallys) those after the first would be $5 each.
That is correct. This is a change to the fee structure that happened along with Dish's first price increase of 2021. The first year my sister's account was open, she paid the full $7 fee, even though her Wally was purchased. As soon as this change went into effect, that fee went down to $5 on the purchased Wally.

So, to answer the original question, that all depends on whether you feel it is worth it or not to purchase your Wally receivers. In other words, is the savings ($2 per month per Wally for each month you still have Dish service) going to be enough to offset the upfront cost of purchasing them? Tvland1 was offering to give away a Wally awhile back. (Did TheKrell end up with that one? I never heard back about that.) So, that would reduce the upfront cost, if that Wally is still available.

But, I see no special 6 month discount offers any longer.
I just saw a half-price offer on Dish Movie Pack at the top of the My Account page when I logged into my mydish account earlier this evening. I didn't try to redeem it, though. Now, I no longer see that Dish Movie Pack deal, there is just an advertisement for Dish Anywhere there now.

There is a preferred customer offer that just shows my 2yr deal. I hunted around in Programming and found a My Offers page which includes:

Free for 1 month
  1. AMC+
  2. DogTV
  3. Faith and Family
50% off
  1. The Movie Pack for 6 months
  2. Playboy TV for 6 months
  3. Multisports pack for 6 months
  4. Outdoor pack for 6 months
  5. Heartland pack for 6 months
  6. AMC+ for 3 months
  7. Starz for 3 months
  8. Showtime for 3 months
Note that I sub to AT250. YMMV

My offers page stated No Offers last week, but now has a list of offers from 1 month free to half off for six months on the same packs that TheKrell listed above. But nothing that I want!

Note that I sub to the Welcome Pack, which is at the other end of the price scale..

I have those same offers - I have AT250 and more were added since I last checked when my bill came out middle of June. The only one that remotely interests me is the multisport pack for RedZone. But the multisport pack has really lost luster once Dish dropped the RSN's. Granted, I couldn't watch the pro games, but to get additional college football games was nice, as well seeing some of the studio programming from around the country.

Dish used to do a deal for 3 free months of multisport and I would add that right at the start of football season, and then I would need to pay the full $13.00 for the 4th month of the season, so my total cost for the NFL season was $13.00. Now the 50% after 4 months is twice what I paid when I got 3 months free and paid 1 month at full price, so that is $26.00 for those same 4 months - and with no RSN's.

Well, I think we can all agree that I am definitely not a "preferred customer" at around half the price of Welcome Pack for my Locals Only subscription. I posted My Offers page in post number 16, and it has not changed.

I think jerryez and I shamed Dish into making more offers available, or at least making them easier to find, with our conversation earlier in this thread. It is one thing if those of us at the low end of the scale don't see any offers available. However, if people with AT250 get curious and start looking there for offers, but don't find any good offers, that makes Dish look bad.

I also love how it says that I already have the Locals Pack for $12, but it does not say what the other $13 is for.

Locals Pack is not itemized as $12 on my bill. The entire package is listed as $25, as you can see in the picture I posted in post number 2 above.
Update: it just got even more confusing! Now, it shows that the $25 Locals Only is an Add-On, but it also still shows that I have the $12 Locals Pack in addition to that:

My monthly total has not gone up. (Yet) Is there another price increase coming next month? :eeek

Man this is why I subbed to DISH back in 97. The prices were so reasonable compared to cable. Those days are long gone now.
