I did blind scan and got much more channels than before, I compared the list of channels (over 300 but lots of repeats) to the ones northgeorgia posted. So I think this is definitely 97.0w.

There seems to be some potential for sports on 97 (I'm looking for mostly soccer), I'm also looking for some local (Canadian channels) and U.S. and possible a movie channel or two, maybe also a cartoon channel

EBRU TV, is an excellent all English family oriented channel with alot of what you are looking for.
Smile of a Child, is 24hrs of kids programs, cartoons etc.
KTV2, mostly English, movies every night and US sit coms.

Lots of religous, multi culture and news channels.

But...don't forget, you now have a motor, and once it's operating properly, you'll have some other satellites to choose from. Once you scan in 95W, you'll have an English documentary channel from China (mostly about Chinese culture, obviously), and their English news channel. Sometimes the main Chinese station CCTV4 has programs subtitled in English, too.

On 101W, you'll get the Pentagon channel, which in addition to the slightly dull State Department and Pentagon briefings, you'll get a cooking show, fitness program, and several movies and series. Those should be pretty easy to pick up even if you're slightly off in tracking the arc. Blindscan them to tune them in -- otherwise, put in the parameters as listed in The List or in Lyngsat
