Has anyone heard of adding a slave hard drive to dishnetworks 625 receiver? for more recording time?

i have a 200Gb hard drive and a ribbon cable from my computer which seems to be the same as the one used in the receiver,i figured i might try it to see what it would do im sure it will work . they slave hard drives off one cable so its a hard drive like a computer, and i build them so i there the same cable. i figured it'd give you more space. you could always make a bracket for it to fit.it it worked. you know
