Dish 625 Problem

I have a dish 625...new out of the box......it picks up perfect signal on 119 satellite, put will NOT download the software that it needs......it is stuck on Acquiring satellite....on the screen where it should be downloading software update to program receiver memory. I have tried it for four days now.

Please suggest a fix to this problem.

I presume you have hard rebooted it (unplug-set for 2 minutes-replug).

Do a check switch to make sure your sats are coming in OK.

Call dish technical support.

The first time you plug in a 625 you have to hook it up to the phone line, I had to run a 100 foot phone line during the installation just so the installers could proceed.

I had a couple of these. 322s too. I fixed it with a front panel reset, and then rerunning the check switch and proceeding as normal. If it starts giving you that BS hard drive error message, you'll HAVE to unplug it for a minute, because an FPR won't fix that. This isn't a phone line problem, since he hasn't made it that far into the setup yet.
