Adult Purchase History filtering - When adult locks are set, this filter will hide the non-impulse adult PPVs that have been purchased. Impulse adult PPVs that have been purchased will list as "PPV Event."

From Dish: Software Version P3.03 for DVR 501/508/510:

* Allows local channels not subscribed to show as "red" in the guide if available for customers.
* Reduces the possibility of black screens
* Plush purchase history filtering improvement

Found on DBS talk, Hope the reduces black screens is reference to the lock ups I've been having since 3.00. Oh, yeah they want me to send it back because my equipments defective now. Both 508s? Same day, same problem, only just after E* upgraded them. ( I also had a defective Yellow card sent to me, took me an hour to convince them it was the new card that was causing a message saying my smart card isn't activated or I can't view shows previously recorded because my card does not have authorization, anyways another story)

I'm getting sick and tired of having to reboot and locking up during recording shows.

I keep forgetting not to change timers, or delete programs while another one is recording.

I want NBR and Stable software, then I'm turning off auto updates!!!

I've seen a key sequence to test/restore/wipe the HD, but I never needed to do it so I don't have that info handy.
If no one comes up with it, I'll go lookin'.

And since we're restricted from telling the whole story here, forget about MaxBlast or other disk utility programs.
You'll wind up p#$$ed off and have nothing to show for it.

I've been getting black screens with 3.01 and 3.02 at least once a week. Hopefully, it will be fixed with this new release.

As for the black screens, how many DVR events do you have, and how many hours left? It sounds more like an overheating issue but the info on time/events would help...

Wiping the HDD out and having it re-format itself is just a few button presses on the remote. no need to even remove it unless you want to try removing your saved stuff before hand (and don't have a standalone DVD recorder or video-capture card for the computer). Otherwise I don't know if I can post it or not. It's in dishmod but it's a bit hidden and described as HDD re-initialization. Really vague but whatever, it worked and it's now fine and dandy again.

I don't think the problem is heat, the receiver is in a TV armoire but it has good ventilation in the front and in the back. The HD is about half way full right now and I try to keep it that way.

I've been to dishmod and I know the procedure but just want to see if it's a software problem first before wiping out everything. My receiver took the update last night, so I'll just let it go and let's see what happens.

I just got 3.03 around noon today for my 510's. Only visual difference I see is the TVGuide logo that now appears in the guide w/partial video. Hopefully this clears up the problems with trying to add/delete/edit timers and recordings while there is a recording in progress...

Yeah, I've seen people reporting these black screens in other forums as well. There is a reason why in the release notes they added:
"Reduces the possibility of black screens"

It might not happen to everyone but some of them have this problem.
