Dish 500

There are a few channels that I really want that are on the 148 and 61.5 Satellites! And I think that to receive those channels (Health & Human Services - Channel 9402, The Pentagon Channel - 9405, Classic Arts Showcase - 9406, Good Samaritan Network - 9416, Holistic Television Network - 9417, Panhandle Area Educational Consortium - 9418KCBS - CBS - 9484, WCBS- CBS - 9482 etc.) I think I must have a Dish 500. But, at the time I have a 1000 Dish. What is the best way to get this Dish and those channels for the best price? And in the future I may be interested in also getting the Sky Angel channels! And also is there any future plans for this satellite (Dish 500)?

It sounds like if you are interested in Sky Angel, then you will need to go with 61.5 as that service is not mirrored on 148. As for CBS (9483 and 9484) they went bye-bye on December 1st and are no longer available to ANY subs.

You will need a wing dish pointed at 61.5. Best bet is to call around to local retailers and see what they can do. Probably around $99.00 installed. Or.... you can get a Dish from Dishstore and install it yourself.

Pick yourself up an old Dish 500 setup off of eBay and install it on the roof east of your 1000. You will need a DPP44 switch also.

I got a Dish 500 legacy dish and plugged it into my DPP44 and now I have 61.5, 110, 119 AND 129.
