Dish 1000 ?

srry to bother u guys / gals

dish 1000 the model is 1000 any good cause it is really cheap on ebay. like will it work for another 2-3 years or will it die in a few months any information on it would be great.

I have a 1000 receiver. It works fine. Had it for 7 years so far. A big negative about the receiver...there are absolutely NO buttons on the receiver itself. If you lose the remote there is no way to even turn the unit on!

If you are getting it for free or very cheap (less than $50) it's fine. Any more than that, find yourself a cheap 301 instead.

See ya

If you can get a 111/301/311 receiver for just a little more then it would be worthwhile to pay the extra money for it. Everything changes every few years. The 301 has been out since 2001 and is still usable on every dish made so it has been the least changed receiver of them all even the current 311 is very similar to it.

Welcome to the sight.. a dish 1000 is diffrent than a model 1000 reciver.. A dish 1000 is a new dish to hit 110, 119, and 129. The model 1000 reciver is a veary old reciver as the guys above have allready said.. i would go for the 301 for its dp capabilites and legacy capabilites. If you allready have dishpro equipment in place the model 1000 reciver will not work unless you have a dp adapter (retails for about 50 bucks if im correct) a 301 or 311 will be your best bet.
