Dish 1000 w/ 311 Receiver

Hey everyone, this is my first post so bear with me. I just had a quick question if anyone knew of compatibility issues between the Dish 1000 and the 311 receiver. We recently started using the 1000 in my area and I've come across problems with some 322 receivers(the included satellite splitter wouldn't work). I was thinking of subbing the 311 and just want to make sure it'll work. Thanks for any info.

Could it be that you need to download the latest software update on the 322 first and then use the separator?

You mean try the download w/o a splitter first? Cause I've downloaded with the splitter and it didn't work.
