I have been reading this forum for about a month but this is my first post so bear with me. After about a month and 4 installation trips, I finally have my Dish 1000 put up. I upgraded to HD and recieved a 622 (they didn't even offer the 722, which if they did, I would have got that instead.) Anyway....
I live in the little town of Kampsville IL and subscribe to st. louis locals. I point to 110, 118,119, 129 birds. Here are my signals.
110 - most transponders are between 55-75, with a few spotbeams in the 40's
118 - most transponders are between 15-30, with tp27-46 and tp4-48 as the highs
119 - transponders in the 55-75 range
129 - transponders in the 25-45 range
I guess what I am asking is, what is an acceptable level. When I had my dish 500 and the old signal meter, they both dishes were at least at 100 or a little over. I believe 110 and 119 are fine but they dont' carry the HD channels I normally watch..those fall on 118 and 129 and those are the ones with the lowest signal range. Is this an acceptable signal range with the new signal meter and dish 1000+ I had another installer out at the house the other day because the first one to do the job left the signals even lower and my HD's were dropping off every time a leaf or a bird drifted in front of the dish it seemed. He said that the signals are now about normal...but both installers seemed to be in a rush to get the job finished and out the door as soon as they got it "good enough".
I guess what I am asking is, will i have problems with these signals during less than ideal conditions? Thanks for your replies!
