I looked for a place to input this request for help but nothing seemed to fit.

I installed a 1000.2 dish so that I could receive the expanding HD channels. Problem is I have three sets of figures and would like to know which is the most accurate.

!. From 1000.2 install book, Az 233 El 33 Skew 128

2. From receiver menu Az 228 El 37 Skew 125

3. Dishpointer site Az 236.8 El33.8 Skew 128.9

I have tried all of these settings with readings in the 60's for 110 and 119 but the best I can get on 129 is about 20 and only on TP31. One other TP I get about 12 but nothing on the rest of them. Any help is greatly appreciated as I have run out of ideas.

Regards

The easiest way to install a 1000.2 is to cover the two eyes on the side with aluminun foil and just aim at 119. Peak 119 and then run check switch and check signals for both 110 and 129. Then begin adjusting the elevation 1 or 2 degrees higher and see if the signal improves on 129.

Looks like the settings in option 1 are the ones you should be using.

#2 is definitely wrong as the receivers don't have a 1000 dish as an option so you are probably viewing 500 settings. Book is good, at least for all of our zip codes here. I agree with pointing 119 first and then adjusting 129 last.

Make sure your mast is plumb. This is absolutely paramount in importance.

Make sure the mast is level and plumb

Since this is a thread I started, I have another question. I have an old Dish 300 with the single LNB that was for 119. Can I use this setup for a 61.5 feed to my 1000.2 dish?

Yes, you can. As long as the LNB is Dish Pro. It would have, DP in the front of the lnb. If it doesn't, it's a Legacy LNB and you cannot use it.

Received Dish Pro Dual LNB today. Installed it on a 300 dish with one output to a spare receiver and the other to the LNB input of the 1000.2 dish. I have a signal on the spare receiver of 70. When I run switch check on my 622 receiver I get 110,119,129 ok but fourth slot shows good connection but no signal. If I go to the signal strength indications all is good except 61.5 says wrong satellite 119 and has the signal strength that I had on 119. What am I missing in my procedures? Does Dish have to do anything to allow my 622 and 211 to see 61.5? Just trying to get locals in HD.

You cant have the dual hooked up to both in that manner. There is nothing that makes the 622 see 61.5 except a check switch. Use the spare receiver to make sure your pointed and locked onto 61.5 then disconnect the receiver. Make sure the dual is just connected to the dish 1000.2 and rereun your check switch. Hook the spare receiver to the dish 1000.2 if you need to hook it up.

Disconnected spare receiver from dual and ran check switch. Got the same results as before. Back to the drawing board.

do what wickedude said, use the spare receiver connected just to the 61.5 dish and get it pointed correctly. Then run check switch on the 622 again.

If your connected it and it reports that but no sats your non aimed correctly. Double check everything for plumbness and reaim the dish. The altitude for 61.5 is usually much different than 110/119 depending on where you live.

Thanks for all the useful info. I relocated wing dish and got a better look through the trees, so I am in business. Need to trim some limbs for a more stable signal but I know everything works.
