OK, long story short. Bought a lake home in South Carolina so Dish installed a Dish 1000 and you all know what kind of crappy signal we get on 129. My son had to go back to my other home in Florida and he was suppose to bring me back my 61.5 dish but he brought me the whole package. The 61.5 dish and the 110,119 dish. Now as you can see I have a big theater and love my HD. 129 just does not cut it. I don't know what the future is for 61.5 and would like your input on what I should do since I have all the dish's to play with.

Should I point at 61.5 or 129 with my single dish or should I do some other kind of setup? I do have a DPP44 ready for additional inputs, thanks in advance for your input.

I have a D1000 with 129 disconnected and a D500 pointed at 61.5. My suggestion - use 61.5 unless there is something you just have to have off of 129.

Do you know what the future of 61.5 is?

Where do you think the Greenville/Spartenburg HD Locals are going to be?

Or add a DP300 or DP500 to look at 61.5. Put it on port 3 of your DPP44 and 129 on port 4, do a check switch and you have everything.

I was getting 40's and low 50's on 129, now with a DP500 pointed at 61.5 I have the lowest at 70 several TP's are over 100.

I think what gdarwin meant was that if you have both 61.5 and 129 connected to the switch, the receivers will always look for 129. Thus defeating the purpose of having 61.5.

I also disconnected 129 from my switch. On some of the HD channels I was getting a 50 signal on 129 but 90+ on 61.5. Since parts of the country can't see the 129 sat, all of the HD channels will remain on 61.5. I only got the 1000 dish because some of the DFW locals were on 129, then they moved all of the SD and HD locals to a 110 spot beam.

Useing Voom Dish

I still have my VOOM dish, can I use that LNB. I also have a Dish1000. Am going to put up a 500 dish for 110,119.

I have both 129 and 61.5. Usually, the receiver goes to 129, but if that signal is too low (due to weather, etc.), it switches to 61.5. What is interesting is that when it switches, it switches all channels--not just the lowest TP.

No, the Voom LNB will not work. If you have a Dish 1000, why are you putting up a 500 for 110 & 119. The signals on those Sat's are fine on the 1000. It's 129 that sucks.

I have good signals......but a little rain and they are gone. I think the dish is just too small. I believe that the 500 is a little larger. I know its not as wide but, thats for the third sat anyway.

I forgot to add how bad my 129 signal is when I started this thread. The other night my wife decided to turn the sprinkler on and I lost 129. My 110 and 119 signals stayed above 100. This 1000 will make a nice bird bath.

My dishes feed into a DPP44 switch. By putting 61.5 in port 3 and 129 in port 4 and running a check switch, 61.5 has precedence over 129. The only signals that are then drawn from 129 would be those that are not mirrored on 61.5.
