They finally got the add programing option fixed on my account today.

cool. Now I can do the "HD extra trick" since my 3 months ends tomorrow (well this round)

yup just removed the HD extra pack via phone (can't do it online as I have a grandfathered package)
Shows on the site now as "0.00 for 3 months" and can add it

I can remove it online but I will have to change my package because I have Choice Xtra Classic. I checked the channel lineup against the new Choice Xtra. There are a few differences, but not many and none that I care about. The price is now the same, so the incentive to save a buck or two each month is gone. The strange thing is the number of channels that I get that the chart says I shouldn't, but if you click on the channel in the Choice Xtra lineup it says it's in my current package even though it doesn't show in the Choice Xtra Classic column. I think I will finally become a former grandfathered customer. Anyone have a compelling reason why I shouldn't?

You can remove the HD extra pack with grandfathered package. Call in and when it says "what would you like to do today" say
CANCEL HD EXTRA PACK

It will remove the HD extra pack without talking to anyone (nobody real at least)
Then you can readd it online

Look at the sticky at the top of the different packages

According to the Directv website, Tennis isn't in Choice Xtra Classic, but it is in Choice Xtra. I do get it, though. It's one of the channels I was referring to in my previous post.

the channel list for Choice Xtra Classic (when you look online) is screwed up

I go with what the pdf is in the sticky (the link I posted to in previous post). I'm on the same package and what it shows on the pdf matches what I have for programming
