You too are absolutly correct !!!!!

I bought my Dad a 34'" Sony XBR and it is not really big enough to see the huge difference between SD and HD, except occasinally.

I have an older Panny 34in with just component inputs, and I have to agree somewhat about what everyone is saying about size vs pq and full appreciation for HD. If it were not for my local CBS station which I get OTA here in the DC area, I really would not be able to tell how much I was missing. The CBS local broadcasts their news in HD, and I mean TRUE HD! The pq is so crystal clear the reporters and the set almost look 3d! They blow D*s AND the network feeds away! So, I can see how viewing true HD on a large screen at the correct viewing distance would be awsome!!---Ray

I also have a 34" JVC set and while I personally can tell huge differences between an HD vs an SD feed. I also don't notice the imperfections in HD nearly as much as when viewing a larger set like my buddies 55" Mitsubishi Diamond. This is probably why at this time I don't get as worked up about the HD-lite issue as those of you with larger sets do. While I of course want FULL HD, I also like having more HD channels, I just hope that once D* gets these other birds up they can get the resolution and bit rates up and just make everyone happy.
