Who says? Also, who has said you have to pay $5 a month for AppleTV to get NFLST, there are many services you can subscribe to via Apple that does not require that monthly charge, MLB Extra Innings for one example, HBOMAX, Paramount+, Disney+, etc, etc.
but forcing bars to buy apple tv hardware for just NFL ST and it better have have Ethernet and keep it with new hardware as 6-8+ boxes on wifi in the same small rack may not work good.
But the BIG cost may be an new bigger Matrix Switcher
Or just buy a bunch of roku streaming sticks dirt cheapbut forcing bars to buy apple tv hardware for just NFL ST and it better have have Ethernet and keep it with new hardware as 6-8+ boxes on wifi in the same small rack may not work good.

Well the MLB on Apple TV+ is one or two games, on Friday nights. Meaning the local team is probably only going to be on it twice or thrice a year. Likewise the Peacock Plus games are going to be 11:30 AM or Noon ET Sunday starts, when many (most) states wouldn’t let bars be open anyway. How are bars handling MLB on Apple TV+ ?
There isn’t a lot else on Apple TV+, or anything else Apple sells that small local bars, cigar stores, lounges, etc, really would want or need.
The one problem with that is does DirecTV want the commercial accounts, there has not been one news story that says DirecTV wants to keep NFLST in any form, they have been losing $600-800 million on NFLST a year for the last few years and that is with Personal and Business Accounts. Therefore, I believe that commercial accounts will be sub-let to DirecTV.
and have the bandwidth to feed 20+ tv's?Or just buy a bunch of roku streaming sticks dirt cheap
You can get 1gig internet quite easily for about $100 a monthand have the bandwidth to feed 20+ tv's?
well with the Sports Packages? why can't NFL ST be like MLB EI / NBA LP / NHL CI (all systems can have it)Apple sells all the Sports Packages ( MLB Extra Innings for example) via itunes, I wonder what would prevent them from selling to businesses ( at a much higher cost of course), is there laws in place that would prevent or allow?

Also, if Apple does get the rights, they will just not give away the Commercial Rights, they will want a good amount of $$$, so would the NFL.
DirecTV are in pinching pennies mode because the new investors want to sell ( already reported), hence why all the new merger talks, there are no new Boxes in development, no new satellites planned, nothing, no extra $$$ being spent beyond day to day operations, if the Commercial Accounts are offered to them, they will not want to spend much.
This is why I believed Amazon was a better fit, they already have a business division that could of handled the Commercial Accounts.
+ running cables to each tv / and or buying wifi hardware to cover your full location (one AP may not be able to handle 20+ HD / 4k steams)You can get 1gig internet quite easily for about $100 a month

Really?+ running cables to each tv / and or buying wifi hardware to cover your full location (one AP may not be able to handle 20+ HD / 4k steams)
How much does it cost a business for all those DirecTV boxes every month, how about the install, I would assume a bunch of Rokus Sticks and a Mesh System would be a lot cheaper in the short run.+ running cables to each tv / and or buying wifi hardware to cover your full location (one AP may not be able to handle 20+ HD / 4k steams)
Because the other leagues’ out-of-market packages are sold under a totally different economic model. The provider (cable co, satellite co, whatever) sells these packages at a profit. NFLST costs money on a cash basis. Because DirecTV, and now maybe Apple, are paying MORE to the NFL than what every willing subscriber would pay the NFL if it were available on “every” provider. That simple.well with the Sports Packages? why can't NFL ST be like MLB EI / NBA LP / NHL CI (all systems can have it)
Prime Viedo’s T&C also clearly say that it is for “home viewing only”. See my earlier response for what will probably be the case. Most people will just use a personal Amazon account, and I would bet that DirecTV gets the commercial rights and carries the games. Now with Commercial Rights what is Amazons plan for TNF? (out of home markets)?
IF you live in the service area of that particular cable company, Altice, which has 3.3M subscribers under all its brands, including Suddenlink which does not offer such a packageYou can get 1gig internet quite easily for about $100 a month

Comcast amongst others have similar dealsIF you live in the service area of that particular cable company, Altice, which has 3.3M subscribers under all its brands, including Suddenlink which does not offer such a package
And if the business has access to cable in the first place. Many bars, cigar stores, lounges, etc. are located in areas where the cable company never wired up the commercial property.
I certainly don’t live in the “boonies” but I know of many places, both in genuinely urban street locations, and in strip malls without cable. The cable in the residential neighborhoods is just fine, by cable standards, but they never wired up places that were zoned commercial, unless one of the businesses in the strip mall wanted to pay for wiring from the nearest node or whatever into the strip mall.Comcast amongst others have similar deals
If your gonna have a sports bar with 20 tvs..you have to assume they are in a good size town with cable internet...someone out in the boonies wouldn't have 20 tvs
